![]() Id like to get to "ideally" 400whp or as close to as possible without going down the engine internals road, if we are doing that I would then expect a greater number from it rather than the 400. This is a project I can do over time so can spend bonus`s on it as and when etc but would want to get a reasonable amount done straight off the bat. I was looking at spending ~£20k on the Lexus so if we go down this road I need to fund my C class, the Legacy and mods for ideally within that budget.Įverything sounds ok until you get to a £5k build for an "engine rebuild", I dont recall MCM doing anything to their engine internals but I believe they are running sub 400. Re brakes & other mods, these would also get down but was just confusing on the powertrain in this post, I entirely agree with you. Thanks for the responses, I set the post to "follow" but I don’t see to get any emails when there are replies, so apologies for the delay in response. I just want to open a dialog to discuss really, I look forward to hearing from you. Tax, I've seen on auto trader some listed as a tax rate of 290 odd and some 505, is it past a certain year it goes up to £505? As rather keep £290 odd long term! It seems as if the cars stock are doing ~250 hp, what is everyones thought on the requirements to get up to 400WHP? And the costs of said requirements broken down? (Ball park) It looks like you can pick up a decent Legacy Spec B for £7k< with ~75k miles on the clock, is the mileage going to be an issue for the modding of this type? Or fairly irrelevant? I would like to keep the car for, well, ever really, it would be a great practical toy so it needs to generate the power "safely & reliably". ![]() I would like to get some change out of ~12k but im looking for some guidance. So, the numbers, I would like no less than 400 WHP. Ill pick up a cheap C class diesel for the daily commute which would leave me a fair chunk of change for the project and can also be done gradually. I dont like the chavvy look of the sport Subarus so im in love with the idea of a sleeper legacy. I am looking around at the moment for a Lexus GS450h but it came to mind why dont I spend less money and build a "Supegramps" for the kids & wife to use thats also fun for me at the weekend. There are slim pickings for a decent speedy estate, pretty much limited to the RS6 bit these are silly moneys, I did come out of an A6 245 last year which was wonderful but they are just >so< expensive. We have just had out 2nd baby and would really like to get back into an estate, I would also like a "weekend car" so figured I would replace the wifes and combine the 2. ![]() Since being introduced to MCM last year I have followed everything they have been doing with "Supergramps" of great interest to me. Im sure this has been broached to a point on here but I would like to ask regardless.
